About Us
Having become friends during their studies at the Royal Academy of Music, London, Cerys MacAllister and Megan Humphries formed the ‘ Sylvan Duo’ as a way to bring their literary passions and music together. Sylvan describes an association with the forests, or as a noun refers to a woodland spirit; it is a nod towards their Celtic heritages and the age-old art of voice accompanied by harp. The Duo brings together two talented musicians, with credits including the Wigmore Hall, The Royal Albert Hall, Hampstead Garden Opera, and Wexford Festival Opera and their recent performances together have included the Buxton International Festival, Jane Austen's House and the Brontë Parsonage.

Music
Performances are tied to the literary history of the venue we perform in, making it a unique concert that takes audiences through a story and immerses them in the time period, often in costume.
Previous concerts have included recreating the concert in Chapter 20 of Jane Austen's Persuasion, bringing to life the Bath concert Anne visited, explaining the Italian song programme to Mr Elliot, and exploring the Brontës' music library at the Parsonage.
